Anoxia set out to combine the old school grinding death of Carcass and Obituary with the socio-political stance of Napalm Death and Terrorizer Some have said that Anoxia are reminiscent of early Death, Grave and Autopsy in tone. However the scope of their material includes a little influence from Godflesh and classic Napalm Death's more experimental deviations on tracks such as 'Fall To Fire'. The band have played shows in and around the Capital and have shows planned for the Midlands and the North of England. The live setting is where Anoxia are most comfortable, with their primal brutality and obvious exuberance energising and even converting many non Death Metal crowds. Much to the bands surprise requests for encores are commonplace. In addition to this Anoxia's online activities have been very successful in fostering a sense of underground unity, the band communicate regularly with a large number of their supporters from France, Sweden, Netherlands, Portugal, USA, Canada, Chile and even as far away as Japan! Although Anoxia have achieved a lot in 2006 the band still regard this as their formative period. With the recording of their self financed debut mini-album produced by Kev at North London's Pinna Studios now completed (and due for a January 2007 release) and the gig offers flooding in; Anoxia are so passionate about their music that they really believe that the sky's the limit!
